2 Ser = to be (a condition) use this form with adjectives examples 1.I am a happy person. = Yo soy feliz. 2.You are a brunette. = Tú eres castano. 3.He is a lawyer. = Él es abogado. 4.We are sad. = Nosotros somos tristes. 5.They are from Chicago. = Ellos son de Chicago.

3 Estar = to be (in a location) examples 1.I am in the cafeteria. = Yo estoy en la cafeteria. 2.You are at the movies. = Tú estás en el cine. 3.He is downtown. = Él está en el centro. 4.We are in Costa Rica. = Nosotros estamos en Costa Rica. 5.They are in their bedroom. = Ellos están en su dormitorio.
