Descriptive adjectives In Spanish, descriptive adjectives are often used with the verb SER to point out the characteristics of a person or a thing. They agree in gender and number with the nouns or pronouns they describe. Adjectives that en in - o have the following forms: Juan es morenoJulia es morena [masculine singular][feminine singular] Mis primos son morenos.Mis sobrinas son morenas. [masculine plural][feminine plural]

Position of adjectives in Spanish Adjectives generally follow the nouns in Spanish. Los estudiantes inteligentes son de King. Las actrices mexicanas hablan español. Adjectives of quantity [mucho, poco, tanto] are placed before the nouns. Hay muchos chicos en la clase de historia y hay pocas chicas. Hay tantos problemas!

Position of adjectives in Spanish Bueno / a and malo / a can be placed after or before a noun. When placed before a masculine singular noun, the forms are shortened: Bueno > buenAlex es un buen amigo Alex es un amigo bueno Malo > malHoy es un mal día Hoy es un día malo When grande is before a singular noun, it is shortened to gran, and the meaning of the word changes. Gran = greatgrande = big, large
