2 ESTAR Estar means “to be”. It is used to talk about condition, location, and feelings. Estar is an irregular verb! It is not conjugated the same way as regular –ar verbs.

El/ella mean “it” but pay attention to the gender of the noun!

4 Ejemplos Yo estoy en la clase de español. I am in Spanish class. María y José están en la clase de ciencias sociales. Mary and Joseph are in Social Studies class. El reloj está al lado de la ventana. The clock is beside the window. ¿Dónde esta la puerta? Where is the door? Los pupitres están delante del escritorio. The students’ desks are in front of the teacher’s desk.

5 Translate the following sentences: My brother is in math class. The teacher is in the science class. John and I are in English class. My cat Garfield is in PE class. Bart and Lisa are in Spanish class.

6 Translations Mi hermano está en la clase de matemáticas. El profesor está en la clase de ciencias naturales. Juan y yo estamos en la clase de inglés. Mi gato, Garfield, está en la clase de educación física. Bart y Lisa están en la clase de español.

7 Be sure to know the conjugations and be able to use the correct form in a sentence!!!!!!!
