4 The preterit (El Pretérito) The preterit is a form of past tense, and is used to express an event or action that began and ended at a definite time in the past.

6 Verbs (Verbos) A verb is a word use to express actions someone or something is doing, and to express states of being.

10 Preterit (Past Tense) To conjugate a verb in Spanish using preterit tense, one must change the infinitive ending into its preterit form, based on each personal pronoun.
