3 Preterite Verbs  Preterite means “simple past tense”  Preterite verbs deal with “completed past action”  The ending tells who did the action.

4 - AR Preterite Endings  Just as the endings, -o, -as, -a, -amos, -áis, and -an tell you that the action takes place in the present, -é, -aste, -ó, -amos, asteis, and -aron tell you that the action took place in the past.
