La Fecha: today’s date Qué fecha es hoy? What’s today’s date? Answer : Hoy es el lunes 6 de octubre (today is Monday, October 6) Fecha means date ** asking about the number in the month (1-31), not the day of the week (Monday – Sunday). ( in Latin America the week start on a Monday) Qué día es hoy? What day is today? Answer: Hoy es jueves. (today is Thursday) Día means day. Asking about the day of the week: lunes, martes, miércoles, jueves, viernes, sábado, domingo (days of the week in Latin America are NOT capitalized) Hoy means today.

La Hora: (telling time) Son las + the hour (formula) Son las will be use from *2:00 – 12:59 We are using the plural Son las since we are talking about more than one hour. Es la una will be use ONLY from *1:00 – 1:59 (we are using the singular) since we are talking about one (1) hour.
