4 La cultura ¿Quién es Frida Khalo? Where was she born? México. What did she do? She was an artist. Within her professional activity, what is her specialty? Self portraits.

5 Pero…what does it mean? Que quiere decir “¿Y tú, cómo eres?” It means “what are you like?”

6 Let’s review some adjectives: What is an adjective? It’s a word to describe someone or something (a noun). When the noun is masculine: The adjective usually ends with the letter “o” Examples: 1. El chico – the boy 2. El libro – the book 3. El bolígrafo – the pen 4. El sábado – on saturday

7 And speaking of male nouns… Some adjectives that describe male nouns/people end with “or”. And for its female counterpart, it ends with “ora”. Examples: 1. El profesor es trabajador. 2. El seňor es decorador de interiores (interior decorator). 3. La profesora es trabajadora. 4. La seňora es decoradora de interiores.

8 Let’s review some more adjectives: What about when the noun is feminine? Then the adjective usually ends with the letter “a”. Examples: 1. La chica – the girl 2. La carpeta – the folder 3. La bicicleta– the bicycle 4. La semana– the week

9 But wait! There’s more!!! There are a few adjectives in Spanish that are used for both male and female nouns/people. Examples: 1. Impaciente 2. Sociable 3. Inteligente 4. Paciente 5. Impaciente

10 So let’s see what the following people are like…

11 ¿Cómo es él? Él es gracioso. ¿Cómo se llama él? Él se llama Chris Rock.

12 ¿Cómo es el presidente? ¿Serio o gracioso? El es serio. ¿Cómo se llama él? Él se llama Barack Obama.

13 ¿Cómo es él? Él es atrevido.

14 ¿Cómo son ellos? Ellos son muy deportistas. ¿Cómo se llaman ellos? Ellos se llaman Lebron James y Kobe Bryant.

15 ¿Cómo son ellas? Ellas son muy deportistas. ¿Cómo se llaman ellas? Ellas se llaman Venus y Serena Williams.

16 ¿Cómo es él? Él es estudioso. ¿Cómo se llama él? Él se llama Sheldon Cooper. ¿Qué tiene Sheldon en las manos? Él tiene un libro.

17 ¿Cómo es el chico? El chico es reservado.

19 ¿Cómo es la seňorita? La seňorita es muy impaciente!

20 ¿Cómo es la seňora? La seňora es muy ordenada.

21 ¿Cómo es mi amigo? ¡ Mi amigo es MUY desordenado y perezoso !

22 ¿Cómo es él? Él es muy talentoso.

23 ¿Según tú, quién es paciente? ¿Y quién es impaciente? ¿ Paciente ? ¡ No ! ¡ Ella es muy impaciente ! ¿ Impaciente ? ¡ No ! ¡ El es muy paciente !

24 ¿Quiénes son ellos Trabajadora Perezoso 1. ¿Quien es el estudiante trabajador o la estudiante trabajadora? 2. ¿Y quién es el perezoso o la perezosa?

25 Ser trabajador…¿es bueno o malo? Es bueno! Es malo!

26 ¿Y ellos, son sociables o no sociables? Ellos son muy sociables!!!
