3 “Go” Verbs There are a lot of verbs that have irregular yo forms, but the rest of the conjugation follows the normal rules. Here is a list of the “go” verbs: *Poner: pongo *Tener: tengo *Hacer: hago *Traer: traigo *Decir: digo *Salir: salgo *Oír: oigo *Venir: vengo *Caer: caigo **You must memorize these conjugations!!!

5 I  Y Verbs that end in “-uir” change from “i” to “y” in every tense except nosotros (just like a normal stem changing verb) EX: construirEX: destruir construyodestruyo construyesdestruyes construyedestruye construimosdestruimos construyendestruyen

6 Oír= to hear Yo oigo Tú oyes Él/ ella/ Ud. oye Nosotros oímos Ellos/ ellas/ Uds. oyen

7 C  ZC Verbs that end in “-cer” or “cir” will change from “c” to “zc” in the yo form EX: conocer  (yo) conozco EX: traducir  (yo) traduzco EX:conducir  (yo) conduzco

8 GJGJ Verbs that end in “-ger”/ “-gir” will change from “g” to “j” in the YO form! Ex: escoger  (yo) escojo Ex: dirigir  (yo) dirijo

9 -GUIR Verbs that end in –guir will drop the “u” in the yo form EX: distinguir- (yo) distingo EX: seguir (e  i) – (yo) sigo

10 Consonant + -CER = C  Z *Only in the “yo” (to keep the sound!) EX: vencer  (yo) venzo EX: convencer  (yo) convenzo
