Los asesores ayudan a los estudiantes durante el proceso para terminar con los requisitos de clases de ESOL. ¡Asegúrate de revisar tu correo electrónico de UTEP constantemente! 2 AAC Welcome to the College Information Session! The purpose of these sessions are to make sure students understand what program they have placed into and/or the majors they have selected You have placed into the PIE program and I will be your advisor for the week

3 Estudiantes cuyo primer idioma es el español y/o cuyo idioma de instrucción a nivel preparatoria no fue el inglés Estudiantes en este programa toman clases de ESOL para mejorar su nivel de inglés ESOL = English for Speakers of Other Languages (Inglés para Hablantes de Otros Idiomas) AAC

4 Se te dará asistencia por parte de un asesor académico para seleccionar las clases que vas a tomar el próximo semestre Tu examen de ubicación determinará en qué nivel de inglés vas a comenzar Los estudiantes con un nivel bajo de ESOL podrán tomar clases en español del tronco común para facilitar la transición a clases impartidas en inglés AAC

5 During the next session, you will have the opportunity to explore some of the majors UTEP has to offer You should ask questions about any majors you may be interested in pursuing Keep in mind that you can explore UTEP majors today, but you cannot change your major

6 I will explain all of this in detail when we meet Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon We will advise you and make sure you take the correct ESOL courses to help you be successful at UTEP along with other courses required for your intended major You will be able to declare your major once you’ve successfully completed the required ESOL coursework AAC
