3 El día de acción de gracias El 27 de noviembre Families reunite to have dinner together Before la cena, families pray and give thanks for everything they have received Families have fiestas grandes with mucha comida y bailan la noche entera

4 La noche buena Celebrated el 24 de diciembre This day is lively: full of parties, dancing, and food Families wait until midnight to hand out gifts Some families participate in angelitos

5 La navidad This day is more calm compared to noche buena; celebrated 25 de diciembre Families reserve this day to have dinner together and spend the day with intimate family members Families attend mass together

6 La noche vieja This day is celebrated el 31 de diciembre Similar to noche buena, it’s a lively holiday filled with parties, dancing and food

7 El año nuevo this day is more calm and people spend it at home with their families Families get together to have dinner together
