2 Indirect Objects & Indirect Object Pronouns The indirect object answers the question "To whom?", "For whom?" or "From whom?" Yo le di el suéter a Paula. I gave the sweater to Paula. To whom did I give the sweater? Paula!!! Paula is the indirect object! ¡OJO! Indirect objects most often refer to people and are joined to the verb by the preposition "A". 3 Just like with direct objects, we can take out the indirect object of the sentence and replace it with an indirect object pronoun. The indirect object pronouns are the equivalent of the English words "ME", "YOU", "HIM", "HER", "US" and "THEM".
