2 Los Verbos Reflexivos In the reflexive construction,
the subject is also the object A person does as well as receives the action… The subject, the pronoun and the verb are all in the same form…

3 Por ejemplo: Yo me levanto a las ocho de la mañana.
Ella se despierta muy temprano. ¿A qué hora te desayunas cada día? Mis hermanas se maquillan en su cuarto. Nosotros nos acostamos muy tarde. Pepito se baña en el baño. I get up at eight in the morning. She wakes up very early. At what time do you have breakfast every day? My sisters put on makeup in their room. We go to bed very late. Pepito takes a bath in the bathroom.

4 How do you form these verbs?

7 pronombres reflexivos:
Posición de los pronombres reflexivos: In front of a conjugated verb: Me acuesto a las diez de la noche. Me quiero acostar a las diez de la noche. Me estoy acostando ahora mismo. Attached to a gerund: Estoy acostándome ahora mismo. Luisa está cepillándose los dientes. Accents!! Attached to an infinitive: Voy a acostarme ahora mismo. Luisa va a cepillarse os dientes.

Hablarse Mirarse Escucharse Pelearse Llevarse bien Llevarse mal Escribirse Abrazarse besarse . Sometimes the reflexive pronoun is used to express a reciprocal action. Instead of using “one another, each other”, in Spanish we use the reflexive pronoun, therefore we could call it reciprocal. Por ejemplo: Se quieren (they love each other) Nos encontramos a las seis (We are meeting at six)

Some verbs use the reflexive pronoun but do not refer to a “reflexive” action, but to a kind of transformation. Categories which imply change: -Change of Social State -Change of Physical State -Change of emotional State Change of Social State: Casarse con (to get married with) Divorciarse de (to get divorced from) Separarse de (to get separated from) Change of emotional state: Enamorarse (to fall in love) Enojarse (to become angry) Preocuparse por (to worry about) Change of Physical State: Caerse (to fall down) Levantarse (to get up) Sentarse (to sit down)
