A lively video clip to revise numbers 1-5 to start the lesson. Pupils can join in with the actions. The video is rather fast, so the ‘lyrics’ can be used afterwards at a slower pace together with the actions, for revision. ¡Vamos a aprender los números! = We’re going to learn the numbers. 4 Hot-seating activity

The other pupils fill in a grid for each person in the hot-seat, recording whether they agree with the answer given and making a comment if they wish at the bottom. This could be something like ‘fenomenal’ or ‘regular’ etc. Make copies for your pupils or get them to write a grid out on paper.

This slide models the question ‘How old are you?’ and the answer ‘I am…years old’, with the question ‘And you?’ There is no audio for this slide – for audio modelling see the following slide. 9 Tengo años.

This slide has audio for each visual image, giving the question ‘How old are you’, the ‘model phrase’ answer and then the three different age answers in complete sentences.

A short video clip to practise the key question and answer. It has Latin American pronunciation of ‘c’ in ‘cinco’ but it is important that pupils hear and get used to this anyway, as a lot of Spanish-speaking people have this pronunciation too!
