Verbos reflexivos In the present tense, the pronoun (me, te, se etc..) goes before the verb : me levanto – I get (myself) up In the infinitive, the pronoun is shown at the end of the verb: Levantarse – to get (oneself) up When we give our opinion about a reflexive action, then we always use the infinitive form. Eg/ No me gusta levantarme temprano. I don’t like to get up early.

4 Modal verbs Hay que Tienes que Se debe
When you use a modal verb, the reflexive verb MUST be in the infinitive. Eg/ Los niños no deben acostarse muy tarde. Children shouldn’t go to bed very late. Eg/ Hay que peinarse cada día para tener el pelo brillante. You have to brush your hair every day to have shiny hair.

A mi padre no le gusta afeitarse dado que tiene miedo de cortarse. A mis amigos y a mí nos interesa vestirnos con ropa muy de moda. Prefiero lavarme con agua fría que con agua caliente en el verano. It is important for me to get up early in the morning, if not I arrive late to work. My brother prefers to shower at night after going to the gym. My dad doesn't like to shave given that he is scared of cutting himself. My friends and I are interested in dressing in fashionable clothing. I prefer to wash myself with cold water rather than hot water in the summer.
