“Estad Firmes en el Señor” “Stand Firm in the Lord”
Introducción. En este mismo capítulo Pablo nos habla de cosas que nos ayudarán a estar firmes en el Señor. Compárense Efes. 6:10-19; 2 Pet. 1:5-11, para no tropezar. Introduction. In this same chapter Paul tells us of things that will help us to stand firm in the Lord. Compare Eph. 6:10-19; 2 Pet. 1:5-11, to avoid stumbling.

V. 2 – Vivir en armonía en el Señor (“sean de un mismo sentir en el Señor”). Aunque sea difícil. El “compañero fiel” (maduro, espiri-tual) podía solucionar problemas. 1 Cor. 6:5. V. 2 – Live in harmony in the Lord (“be of the same mind in the Lord”). Even when it’s difficult. The “true companion” (mature, spiritual) could solve problems. 1 Cor. 6:5.

V. 3 – Ayudarnos unos a otros. Cooperar con los demás cuyos nombres están en el libro de la vida. Rom. 16:1, 3; 1 Cor. 16:15. V. 3 – Help each other. Cooperate with the others whose names are in the book of life. Rom. 16:1, 3; 1 Cor. 16:15.

V. 4 – Regocijarse en el Señor siempre (¡Pablo preso en Roma!). Otra vez: “en el Señor” (como cristianos). Hech. 16:24, 25; 1 Tes. 5:16; Judas 1:24, 25. V. 4 – Rejoice in the Lord always (Paul a prisoner in Rome!). Again: “in the Lord” (as Christians). Acts 16:24, 25; 1 Thess. 5:16; Jude 1:24, 25.

V. 5 – Que nuestra “gentileza” (bondad, amabilidad) sea conocida a todos. Que sea característica dominante, obvia. Como Jesús, Mat. 11:28-30. V. 5 – That our “gentleness” (forbear-ing spirit) be known by all. Let it be a dominant and obvious characteristic. Like Jesus, Matt. 11:28-30.

“El Señor está cerca”. Santo y seña de cris-tianos perseguidos… Creemos esto? ¿Cómo seríamos si El estuviera físicamente cerca, en el mismo cuarto? “The Lord is near.” Password of persecuted Christians… Do we believe this? How would we act if He were physically near, in the same room?

V. 6 – “Por nada estéis afanosos”. Mat. 6:25-34; 2 Tim. 2:19; Mat. 13:22, “el afán de este siglo… ahoga la palabra”. Pero sí preocupa-dos por otros, 1 Cor. 12:25; 2 Cor. 11:28. V. 6 – “In nothing be anxious.” Matt. 6:25-34; 2 Tim. 2:19; Matt. 13:22, “the worry of the world chokes the word.” But concerned about others, yes, 1 Cor. 12:25; 2 Cor. 11:28.

“Más bien presentar sus peticiones delante de Dios en toda oración y ruego, con acción de gracias”. Vea 1 Pet. 5:7. “But in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” See 1 Pet. 5:7.

V. 7 – Vivir tranquilos. “Y la paz de Dios, que sobrepasa todo entendimiento, guardará vuestros corazones y vuestras mentes en Cristo Jesús”. 2 Tes. 2:16, 17; 3:16. V. 7 – Live a tranquil life. “And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” 2 Thess. 2:16, 17; 3:16.

Tenemos paz con Dios y también paz los unos con los otros por medio del sacrificio de Jesús, Efes. 2:13-18; Col. 3:15. We have peace with God and with one another by means of the sacrifice of Jesus, Eph. 2:13-18; Col. 3:15.

V. 8 – Meditar sobre “todo lo que es verdadero… honorable… justo… puro… amable… digno de alabanza”. ¿TV, videos, libros, música? Biblia, estudios, himnos. V. 8 – Meditate on “whatever things are true… noble… just… pure… lovely… worthy of praise.” TV, videos, books, music? Bible, studies, hymns.

Rom. 2:16, “en el día en que, conforme a mi evangelio, Dios juzgue los secretos de los hombres, por medio de Cristo Jesús”. Heb. 4:12, 13. Rom. 2:16, “on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.” Heb. 4:12, 13.

V. 9 – Seguir buenos ejemplos: “Lo que tam-bién habéis aprendido y recibido y oído y visto en mí, esto practicad, y el Dios de paz estará con vosotros”. 1 Tes. 5:12; Heb.13:7. V. 9 – Follow good examples: “The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.” 1 Thess. 5:12; Heb. 13:7.

V Ser contentos. “He aprendido a contentarme cualquiera que sea mi situación”. 1 Tim. 6:6-8; Heb. 13:5; Prov. 15:15, corazón contento -- fiesta continua V. 11 – Be content. “I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.” 1 Tim. 6:6-8; Heb. 13:5; Prov. 15:15, merry heart has a continual feast.

V. 13 – Que nuestra fuerza sea del Señor. “Todo lo puedo en Cristo que me fortalece”. ¡No estamos solos! V. 13 – That our strength be from the Lord. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” We are not alone!

V. 15, 16 – Comunión en el evangelio, desde el primer día hasta ahora, 1:5. No es ayuda sólo para evangelista, 4:17, 18 V. 15, 16 – Fellowship in the gospel, from the first day til now, 1:5. It is not just help for the evangelist, 4:17, 18.

Resumen: Armonía.. Cooperar.. Gozo.. Gentileza.. Evitar afán.. Peticiones.. Tran-quilos.. Meditar.. Ejemplo.. Content.. Fuerza.. Comunión.. Summary: Harmony.. Cooperate.. Joy.. Gentleness.. Avoid worry.. Petitions.. Tran-quility.. Meditate.. Example.. Content.. Strength.. Fellowship.
