Actividad Inicial: Copia y responde. 1. ¿Juegas al Bingo en la clase de español? 2. ¿Duermes en la clase de historia? 3. ¿Puedes comer en la clase de ciencia? 4. ¿Prefieres jugar futbol o basquetbol?

2 Los verbos INTERESAR, ABURRIR, GUSTAR (Expressing what interests, bores or pleases you) Interesar (to interest) Aburrir (to bore)  Both function the same as in English, for example: ¿Te aburre el béisbol? No, el béisbol me interesa. ¿Te aburren los deportes? No, los deportes me interesan. Does baseball bore you? No, baseball interests me. Do sports bore you? No, sports interest me.

3 Gustar (to please / to like )  This verb conveys the meaning to like but its true meaning is to please.  The Spanish way of saying “I like baseball.” is “Baseball pleases me.” ¿Te gusta el béisbol? Si, me gusta mucho el béisbol. ¿Te gustan los deportes en general? Si, me gustan. Does baseball please you? DO YOU LIKE BASEBALL? Yes it pleases me very much. YES I LIKE IT VERY MUCH. Do sports in general please you? DO YOU GENERALLY LIKE SPORTS? Yes, they please me. YES, I LIKE THEM.

4  Gustar is often used with and infinitive to tell what you like. ¿Te gusta ganar? Si. No me gusta perder. ¿Te gusta comer? Do you like to win? Yes. I don’t like to lose. Si, (No) me gusta comer.

5 So…  To use the verbs INTERESAR, ABURRIR, GUSTAR…. If the question asks:  ¿Te…? You answer:  Me… Por ejemplo:  ¿Te gusta estudiar?  No me gusta estudiar.

6 Practica: Copia y responde: ¿Te gusta cantar? ¿Te gusta bailar? ¿Te gusta mas textear o hablar por teléfono? ¿Te gusta mas jugar baloncesto o ser espectador?
