3 In Spanish There are two ways to show possession.

4 A. Showing Possession In Spanish there are NO apostrophes. You cannot say, for example, Jorges dog, (using an apostrophe)

5 Showing Posession You must say, The dog of Jorge, only in Spanish. Like this: El perro de Jorge.

6 De + noun This concept of showing possession is using object + de + noun. For example:

7 De + Noun Tengo el cuaderno de Felipe. La hermana de Maria es amable.

8 Part B. The second way to show possession is to use possessive adjectives.

9 Possessive Adjectives Adjectives DESCRIBE nouns, correct? Well, they can also show possession. 1. Remember that adjectives must agree in gender and number.

15 Possessive Adjectives The possessive adjective must agree with the item of possession, not the person possessing the item.

16 Possessive Adjectives The possessive adjective must be singular if the noun is singular and plural if the noun is plural. In other words, it must agree in gender and number!
