In English the passive is used : Magazines are sold A new model was designed Passive of verbs with double object. In Spanish only one passive is possible: Juan dio un libro a Pedro Un libro fue dado a Pedro por Juan Pedro fue dado un libro por Juan In English there are two possibilities He gave me two books.Two books were given to me by him I was given two books by him
