1 Semestre 1 – Enero, 2012 District 8j Summative Final Oral Proficiency Exam There are 4 sections - Student must complete all sections! - Greetings & Courtesies / Introduction / Personal information section - Like & Dislike section; also known as the opinion section - Description section - Schedules and / or giving advice section - Roleplay – Interactive section

2 Teacher is allowed to repeat prompt two times only. Teacher is allowed to restate or redirect a different question if teacher needs to check for clarity or a pattern of strength or weakness. Students need to pass all sections of the final oral exam. Students must demonstrate verb & vocabulary variety. Teacher may decide to offer a second topic within a section in order to establish pattern of strength or weakness.

3 Meets = 24 Grade of B- Participates in the conversation. Relies on memorized material & includes some original or detailed language. If teacher must pull it out of you = Performance may not be passing = 10 Uses words & sentences that show partial mastery of classroom material. May not have full control of newer material. Fairly smooth with only some unnatural pauses. Demonstrates understanding of structure and grammar as taught in classroom. Shows near full control of memorized material. Spanish 1 structures must be highly accurate.

10 Role plays are an opportunity for students to demonstrate their skill in an interactive conversation. Student must be prepared and confident without hesitations. They must speak at sentence level and demonstrate the ability to ask & answer questions. Extra Credit is available for exceeding the level: High accuracy Prepared, Confident & Natural (doesnt ask the teacher what to do) Uses time frames other than the present Student offers additional and/or detailed information
