3  P – position/preposition  L - location  A - action  C - condition  E – emotion Usos de ESTAR How you feel and where you are, ALWAYS use the verb ESTAR!

4 ESTAR + position  1. Use a form of ESTAR.  2. Use the correct preposition with “de”  Ej. La pluma está encima de la silla.  ¡OJO! If the object after the preposition is masculine, use “del”  Ej. The chair is under the desk. –La silla está debajo del escritorio.  A ti te toca— –The notebook is beside the book. –Juan is in front of the door.

5 ESTAR + location  1. Use a form of ESTAR.  2. Use the word “en” – on  Ej. I am in the gym –Yo estoy en el gimnasio.  A ti te toca:  -You are in the library.  -The students are in spanish class.

6 ESTAR + condition/emotion  1. Use a form of ESTAR.  2. Use the correct adjective.  OJO – make sure your adjective agrees in gender and number!!!  Ej. I am nervous. –Yo estoy nervioso/a.  A ti te toca: –Claudia is tired. –We are excited.
