12 Tener is also used to express age in Spanish. English- I am 11 years old. Spanish- I have 11 years. I am 11 years old= Tengo 11 (once) años. ¿Cuántos años tienes? –How many years do you have? –How old are you?

13 Hints: “yo” can be left off- “Tengo” is fine. “tú” can be left off- “Tienes” is fine. “nosotros” can be left off- “Tenemos” is fine.

14 Hints Él/Ella/Ud. should be left on. Ellos/Ellas/Uds. should be left on. –These also can be dropped off….. but only after the speaker has established who is being referred to.
