4 Backup Exec System Recovery: Una Revisión Rápida

5 Recuperación del Sistema - Antigua y Manual
Reparar o Comprar Nueva Podría Tomar Dias/Semanas Re-Instalar SO Empezar Nuevamente Re-Instalar Drivers Re-Instalar Aplicaciones Re-Configurar Settings Traditional system recovery is a very manual, intensive and long process. Steps included repairing the hardware, reinstalling the OS, applications, patches, system updates and other system requirements. After these were completed, the administrator then needed to try and reconfigure the system back to the exact state before the disaster. In fact, it can take days or weeks to get a system back to the exact state it was previous to the crash or disaster. <Hit Enter or Click For Build> And if you do any of these steps incorrectly, you have to go all the way back to the beginning, and start over. And the longer it takes you, the longer your employees remain in a non-productive state, you have a huge potential for revenue loss, and/or damage to your company reputation. In a recent survey of US company’s nearly half had experienced a recovery failure in the past year. And when the recovery did work it took more than six hours and required an IT person on site. 7 Recuperación Completa de Sistemas Windows en Minutos
Dispositivo NAS / SAN I/SCSI, SATA, ATA USB / Firewire Memoria Flash CD/DVD Backup Exec System Recovery (BESR) enables the complete Windows system recovery in minutes, not hour or days. Let’s walk through how it works. <Hit Enter or Click For Build> First, with BESR (please say full name), you can protect any Windows system – a server, desktop, or laptop. And on the system, you will find the system information, as well as data. With BESR, you can take a full image of the system information and data and store that in a Recovery Point. This Recovery Point takes an image of the entire system or volume. The Recovery Point can be taken while the system is online and active or “hot.” You do not need to take the server, desktop, or laptop offline. And you can even schedule when Recovery Points are taken. BESR actually lets you schedule full or incremental recovery points. This recovery point can be stored on a variety of different media, whether that be NAS or SAN device, iSCSI, SATA, a USB or Firewire external drive, flash memory or even burn the Recovery Point to a CD or DVD. With BESR, if you lose your system, as we discussed happens more often that realized, you can select the Recovery Point, and recover you entire system. But also with BESR, if you lose specific data or information, you also have the ability to recover individual files or folder, or other business critical information. But that is not all. BESR also provide that same lightning fast recovery when recovering to dissimilar hardware – a different server, desktop, or laptop. It even lets you bring up a Recovery Point in a virtual environment, for example, using VMware, if a physical server is not available, or desired. 9 Nuevas Funcionalidades
Soporte para Microsoft Vista Soporte para x64 (EM64T, AMD64) Nueva Interfaz: Simple y Revolucionaria System Recovery Disk Personalizado Funcionamiento Perceptiblemente Mas Rápido This is the biggest feature release ever of Backup Exec System Recovery which makes it nearly impossible for us to cover all of the new functionality during an hour training session, so we will spend our time today discussing the new key features. These features include support for Microsoft Vista specifically for the Desktop Edition. Note that if you want to manage licenses of Desktop Edition with Backup Exec System Recovery Manager; however, that component must run on a Windows 2003 Server. We’ve also added support for x64 EM64T and AMD64 systems*, which has been a major request from customers that we’re now able to meet (note however that there is no support for Itanium IA64 for this release); a revolutionary new user interface, making the product even that much easier to use; a Customizable Symantec Recovery Disk – another major request from many customers – and finally the product is significantly faster. Now let’s take the time to expand on the last three items on the list. *no Itanium support at this time. Backup Exec System Recovery 7.0

10 Nueva Revolucionaria Interfaz del Usuario
Simple y Fácil de Usar Incorpora Decisiones Automatizadas Basadas en Mejores Prácticas y Reportes Backed Up Attention Needed At Risk Mas Detalles con un simple click del Mouse Linea de Tiempo Calendarizado con Status de Pasados, Presentes y Futuros Respaldos del Sistema This is the new Home Page screen for Backup Exec System Recovery. You’ll notice that it is significantly different than what exists in Backup Exec System Recovery 6.5 today. <Hit Enter or Click For Build> The first thing that you will notice is that this new interface presents a very simple, easy to use view This new view incorporates best practice decision making and reporting. From a quick glance, users can immediately identify if their systems are protected (represented by the green circle with a check), if their systems need attention (represented by a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark), and finally if their systems are not protected at all (represented by a red stop sign shape with an x mark). This interface also includes mouse over drill down capabilities and A new calendar timeline view showing past, present and future system protection status for all of the drives on a particular system Backup Exec System Recovery 7.0

11 Symantec Recovery Disk Personalizado
As mentioned earlier, version 7.0 also includes a new Customizable Symantec Recovery Disk (SRD) that allows IT administrators to build a recovery disk unique to their specific hardware environments through a wizard driven interface. This wizard automatically harvests or collects drivers from the system the customizable SRD is being created on and also allows administrators to add any additional drivers. Once they are done building their unique Symantec Recovery Disk, they can automatically burn this to a CD or .iso format. The big benefit here is that customers no longer need to contact support to have recovery disks created for them. Backup Exec System Recovery 7.0

14 Nueva Capacidad de Recuperación de Exchange
Opciones de recuperacion del Exchange Mantiene Exchange Online Puntos de Recuperacion Full o Incremental Calendarizado (Cada 15 Minutos) Recuperación Critica de Datos de Exchange en Segundos Envia s o PST recuperados al Usuario Carpetas de Mailboxes Adjuntos Sistema <Hit Enter or Click For Build> BESR 7.0 introduces revolutionary Exchange recovery capabilities from a system recovery point or image. The new Exchange Retrieve Option gives you the ability to retrieve individual s, folders, mailboxes, and even attachments from a Recovery Point, as well as being able to recover the entire Exchange Server. We are able to do this level of individual file – or granular – recovery because the Exchange Retrieve Option has the ability to peer directly into the Exchange database (or .edb) that resides in the Recovery Point. There is no need to mount the .edb, put it on another Exchange Server, as it is all handled transparently to the administrator, making Exchange granular recovery a breeze. It is important to note that as a disk-based Windows recovery solution, BESR 7.0 can take live or “hot” backups of your Exchange server, letting you keep your Exchange server online. The core BESR solution provides the ability to do create the “hot” backups or Recovery Points. You can schedule your Exchange backups, and do full or incremental Recovery Points. In fact, you schedule Recovery Points as frequently as every 15 minutes, significantly reducing the amount of potential data loss, critical for systems like Exchange (sometimes called your Recovery Point Objective. But now with the Exchange Retrieve Option, you can recover that critical Exchange data in seconds. Using this new option, you can select any User Mailbox, recover individual s, folders, mailboxes, or even attachments. You can these directly back to the user in need. You can even recover entire PSTs. Depending on the size of the PST, you can it back or work with IT to have a PST reinstalled on the Server or user’s workstation. 15 Entrada al Mundo Virtual
Sistema Físico 1 Tomar un Punto de Recuperacion 2 Convertir (P2V) Punto de Recuperación a Virtual 3 Cargar Sistema en un Ambiente Virtual Proceso de Conversión VMware MSFT Virtual Server 4 Usar en Producción o para Test Backup Exec System Recovery (BESR) enables customers to easily convert system recovery points into virtual environments, which is especially useful if an organization does not have any hardware on hand to restore to in the event of a failure.. Let’s walk through how it works. <Hit Enter or Click For Build> First you capture a system recovery point Then you convert that physical recovery point to a virtual file (either .vmdk or .vhd) through a new conversion wizard for easy P2V conversions. Next you simply load the system in the virtual environment using either VMware or Microsoft Virtual Server. Once the system is running in a virtual environment, Administrators can use this as a live production environment, giving users access to the virtual machine until they get new hardware in place to restore to, or they can use the virtual environment to perform preflight testing of patches, application installations, configuration changes, or driver updates in the virtual environment before applying changes to production systems. Once complete they can easily convert the virtual environment, back to physical again if desired for easy V2P conversions.

The first method that we’ll talk about for enhanced data recovery capabilities includes new file and folder level backup and recovery. <Hit Enter or Click For Build> Just like with Recovery Points, you capture a file/folder backup and save it to any local disk storage device. Then from the Home Page of Backup Exec System Recovery, select Recover Files and you can easily search for the file or folder you wish to recover, much like you would search for a file using Windows Explorer. Using a file and folder backup is especially useful if you have limited disk space for storing recovery points. For example, if you have a set of files that you change on a regular basis, such as a Word document, you can define a file and folder backup that captures only Word files. When you select a file and folder backup as your backup type, you can choose to back up all files of a specific type or you can select a specific folder and have all files in that folder backed up. 17 Nueva Integración con Google Desktop
Rápidamente Busque y Recupere Archivos desde Puntos de Recuperación Indexados No Entrenamiento Requerido No Requiere Software Especial Característica Desktop (Local) Another method do recover data is through our new integration with Google Desktop. Let’s walk through how this works: <Hit Enter or Click For Build> First, users capture a recovery point of a system with indexing support checked and store that recovery point to any disk storage device Next they open up Google Desktop that has already been installed and configured Then users can quickly search for and retrieve any file or folder from indexed recovery points. There is no special software required Making it easy for users to use as it has the familiar web-browser interface they are used to with Google which means that there is no special training required. And finally a note that this is a Desktop feature Protected Server Disk Storage Backup Exec System Recovery 7.0

18 Integración con Backup Exec Retrieve

Some important items to note: BESR Server Edition – There is no increase in price. It is still $1095. BESR SBS Edition – There has been a $100 USD MSRP increase in price. This is due to the addition of the Exchange Retrieve Option, since MSFT SBS Standard and Premium editions both include Exchange. BESR Desktop Edition – No increase in price BESR Manager – This is priced at $1495 USD MSRP. It is not needed on every server, only on the system that will be acting as the central management system or server. BESR Exchange Retrieve Option – This is priced at $995 USD MSRP per instance. Please note that it is priced the same as the Backup Exec for Windows Servers Agent for Exchange. So the desire here is to deliver price parity for protecting Exchange. Also note that while this Option can be installed on a Windows server, desktop or laptop, it is priced Per Exchange Server – meaning customers must purchase one license of the Exchange Retrieve Option for every Exchange server that they wish to be able to get granular recovery for that we talked about earlier. BESR Recovery Starter Kit – Providing a savings of 25%, this bundle provides 5 Server Edition licenses, 1 Manager, and 1 Exchange Retrieve Option at $5,995 USD MSRP BE SRO – Specifically designed for and targeted at the Backup Exec for Windows Servers install base, the new Backup Exec System Recovery Option is priced to move at $695 USD MSRP. 29 Which Solution for Exchange?
Functionality BE Core (w/Exchange Agent) BESR Core (w/Exchange Retrieve Option) Backup Exchange Granular Recovery Continuous Exchange Protection Application Recovery Dissimilar System Recovery With the introduction of the Exchange Retrieve Option, the question will arise regarding which solution a customer may need if there is Exchange. Remember, if the customer already has Backup Exec for Windows Servers, then sell the Backup Exec Agent for Exchange. However, if the customer has neither, this matrix should help define some of the discussions. Both protect Exchange and offer granular recovery. Both will eliminate the now redundant mailbox backup. But only Backup Exec for Windows Servers will offer Continuous Protection of Exchange and application level recovery. And while Backup Exec for Windows Servers and the Exchange Agent do not include dissimilar hardware recovery, you can add the BE SRO for that functionality. Consider the cost difference for complete Exchange protection, including dissimilar hardware recovery. BE = BE Core (795) + Agent for Exchange (995) + BE SRO (695) = 2,485 BESR = BESR Core (1095) + ERO (995) = 2,090 * *Enabled Via BE SRO Backup Exec System Recovery 7.0
