3 The verb TENER= to have Yo tengo un perro. Mis amigos tienen un gato.
Yo tengo Nosotros tenemos Tú tienes Vosotros tenéis Él, Ella, Ud. tiene Ellos, Ellas, Uds. tienen Yo tengo un perro. Mis amigos tienen un gato. [My friends have a cat.]

4 Blue Blue tiene dieciocho meses.
Tenemos que caminar con Blue todos los días. ¿Tienes un perro? *tener que = to have to

5 Tener que + infinitive to have to do something… Write what they have to do.
1. Yo / tomar apuntes 2. Miguel / estudiar 3. Nosotros / llegar a tiempo 4. Ellas / usar la computadora Tengo que tomar apuntes Miguel tiene que estudiar. Tenemos que llegar a tiempo. Ellas tienen que usar la computadora.

6 How often…? Add the phrases in RED where appropriate.

8 NUNCA…(never) Nunca must come before the verb or
Nunca tenemos que trabajar. No tenemos que trabajar nunca. Nunca must come before the verb or the word NO must come before the verb and NUNCA can come later!

We have to get good grades. They have to rest. I have a computer. Carina has science class at 2:30 in the afternoon.
