17 ¿Dónde estamos? Gobierno Chileno Gobierno Chino Empresarios Chilenos
Empresarios Chinos First part: Chile and China are entering a new phrase in their relationship. Chile and China, its main trading partner, have been undergoing an intense cultural exchange over the past decade. In light of this cultural exchange, various actors from both the governmental and the private sector have acknowledged that having an understanding of cultural and idiomatic spheres is crucial when it comes to forging relationships across cultures. Having the language tools necessary for communication, be it Mandarin Chinese or Spanish, is the most fundamental ingredient for the success of a cultural exchange. A long time has passed since we signed the treaty. The business sector has greatly benefited from it. But if we want to go further we need to get to know each other better.

One idea was academic – we asked ourselves if it was useful to study Mandarin Chinese, or if it was a fad. Today we have a paper that answers this question. “Why would learning Mandarin Chinese generate long term benefits for a country like Chile?” Betting on learning Mandarin This paper is available for you to read and download on our website in both a Mandarin Chinese version and a Spanish version.
