1 Preterite Tense Some Uses of the Preterite Tense
To narrate or report actions or events that     happened in the past. We went out last night. I got up early this morning. I did not go to my first class this morning. To sum up a duration in the past. We studied for three hours. We lived in New York for seven years.

2 Preterite Tense Endings
-ar -er, -ir yo tú él, ella, Ud. nosotros/ as vosotros/as ellos, ellas, Uds. - é - aste - ó - amos - asteis - aron - í - iste - ió - imos - isteis - ieron

3 Uses -ar verbs Yesterday... Ayer... I spoke with my mother.
