1 Repaso de Unidad 3 Lección 1 Audience: A 7th grade Spanish class.
Purpose: To review part of a unit using the verb gustar and interrogative words with foods. I would use this on a projector to do review before a test. I would also put this on my website so that my students could practice individually, if desired. Proximity: I kept the slides together that each focus on one of the three themes we’re reviewing. Since the slides run sequentially in each group, I did not include a “next” button on those slides. Only at the and of each group did I put a button to return to the main choice slide. Alignment: Besides keeping vertical alignment with the questions and responses on many slides, I also used the Z rule as our eyes follow the question to the right, across the center to the picture and then back again to the right for the answer. Repetition: I decided to keep the blue background throughout the power point. It is a bright color that helps the contrasting words in white grab our attention. I kept the same font style except for the two slides announcing it’s time to practice. I wanted those to be more eye-catching. I also softened the pictures by giving them all rounded corners. The rounded look went well with the font style. Contrast: I have several examples of contrast. I used different font sizes on slides, some with very obvious differences. I also used color for contrast and emphasis. With the “gustar” slides I made the forms of gustar orange which is the same color that my students have in their notes from class. Then I made the question words yellow to have them stand out more. A design note: I chose to add some sounds in the vocabulario section with sounds designed to match the food or beverage picture. To keep them on their toes I only did this with a few pictures. Citations: All sounds were taken from findsounds.com.
