There are three types or classes of verbs as determined by the infinitive ending.

Every verb has 2 parts: STEM + ENDING Hablar = habl-
Practicar = practi- Estudiar = estudi- Trabajar = trabaj- Cocinar = cocin- Mirar = mir- Escuchar = escuch- Jugar = jug- Presentar = present- Comprar = compr- + AR

To conjugate regular verbs, we change the endings on the regular stem.
Remove the –ar and then add the appropriate ending for the subject you want to express.
